AWC garners 4 marketing awards

Arizona Western College's marketing, public relations and college publication teams recently received four awards at a National Council of Marketing and Public Relations District 6 conference in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Graphic designer Scott McKeogh received a gold award for his “One Too Many” poster for an Alcohol Awareness event on campus. He was also recognized with a silver award for his “Seamless Pathways” postcard design to promote the Systems Engineering 3+1 program through an AWC and University of Arizona collaboration.

Graphic designer Michael Rose earned a gold award for “The Green Dream” logo design used at the AWC Sustainability Fair. Professor Megan Lahti's Environmental Science 101 class collaborated with Rose on the creative process.

Communications coordinator Alison Howell won a silver award for the amount of local, regional and national coverage she was able to garner about AWC's Flip the Switch ceremony in December 2011. The event commemorating the initiation of the AWC five-megawatt solar installation was included in almost 24 news outlets around the country. NCMPR is a national organization for the marketing of two-year colleges.
