Foothills Bank giving to local charities
Foothills Bank is celebrating its 15th anniversary by donating $15,000 to local charities, and customers can decide the lucky beneficiaries.
Three local nonprofits will get $5,000 each as part of the bank's CARE campaign. Staff decided the candidates, and customers can cast ballots for the winners. Their options include Amberly's Place; Crossroads Mission; Habitat for Humanity; Foundation of YRMC; Greater Foothills Helping Hands; Hospice of Yuma; Saguaro Foundation; United Way of Yuma County; Yuma Community Food Bank; and the new Yuma Community Foundation-Yuma Veterans Fund.
Bank customers will receive one ballot per day while conducting banking transactions through Nov. 15. Each branch will have a ballot box in the lobby. The winning nonprofits will be announced on Nov. 16 and will receive their “CARE package” with a $5,000 check from the bank.
“The best way we can say thank you to the community that has supported us through the years is to help worthy nonprofits, many of whom are dealing with incredible challenges right now,” stated bank President and CEO Wayne Gale in a news release. “Our staff truly cares about the community and when given a choice of how to celebrate our anniversary, it was an easy decision that this is the right thing to do.”
