District 1 to consider military grant, pay plan for superintendent
At a board meeting Monday, the Yuma Elementary District 1 governing board will discuss a grant the district recently received to aid students from military families.
Superintendent Darwin Stiffler will share more information with the board about the three-year grant, which totals more than $1.2 million from the Department of Defense Education Agency, and how the funds will be used.
In other meeting news, the governing board will be selecting three to five priorities for the superintendent to report on over the course of the school year. The group will also consider approving a performance-based pay plan for the superintendent based on the rank given to the district from the Arizona Department of Education.
Chief Financial Officer Kerry Jones will also be reporting on the budget and on enrollment.
Lastly, the board will consider approving a new director of curriculum and learning services.
