Gadsden board members begin new terms

SAN LUIS, Ariz. — Two newly re-elected members of the Gadsden Elementary School District began new four-year terms recently as they took the oath of office.

Neither Rosa Varela nor Tadeo De la Hoya faced opponents in November in their bids for re-election.

Varela is beginning her third year on the board that oversees elementary schools in San Luis, Ariz., and Gadsden. She was previously elected to the board in 2000 and in 2008.

De la Hoya was first elected to the board in 2008 and is beginning his second term.

The governing board, in its first meeting of 2013, reappointed board member Luis Marquez as its president.
