Yuma Border Patrol arrests sex offender
U.S. Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector arrested an illegal entrant who had been previously convicted in this country as a sex offender.
The arrest came just two days after agents arrested two convicted felons who were also in the country illegally.
According to Agent Kyle Estes of the Yuma Sector Communications Division, agents spotted four men jumping over the international border fence near Andrade, Calif., on Wednesday and arrested them.
A records check determined that one of the men was an unregistered sex offender who had been deported to Mexico only a month ago.
Two days earlier, agents arrested a group of eight drug smugglers in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, two of whom had previously been convicted of felonies.
