Police seek man allegedly involved in domestic violence disturbance

The Yuma Police Department is looking for a man who was allegedly involved in a domestic violence disturbance Thursday afternoon. There were no injuries reported.

According to YPD, the incident involved Kennan Brown and a woman known to him. It happened at about 5:30 p.m. at a residence on the corner of 29th Lane and 28th Drive.

When police arrived, Brown fled on foot, jumping over fences through neighbors' yards to escape. “He took off running from us,” said YPD Lieutenant Wayne Boyd.

Police then cordoned off the area and began a systematic search for Brown, but he was able to elude capture.

Police remained on scene for several hours during the search.

Brown, who is in his 30s, was already wanted for several outstanding misdemeanor warrants. A further description of Brown was unavailable as of press time Thursday.

Anyone with information about Brown's whereabouts is asked to call YPD at 373-4700 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
