Supervisors to discuss 2009-2010 budget

The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will hold a special budget session Wednesday, to discuss the fiscal year 2009-2010 budget.

The meeting is Wednesday, May 20, at 9 a.m. at 198 S. Main St. in Yuma. The meeting is open to the public.

Supervisors will discuss and possibly act on the fiscal year 2009-2010 budget. They will also discuss various department budgets and outside agencies' funding requests.

Among the topics to be discussed will be public fiduciary, which provides guardianship, conservatorship and decedent services in a professional, efficient and compassionate manner when no other person, agency or corporation is qualified and willing to serve, Sheriff's Office, Public Health Services district, Public Works, Capital Improvement Projects, Crossroads Mission and the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation.

The board will also adopt the tentative budget for fiscal year 2009-2010 and set a date for a public hearing about the budget.
