Pink Ribbon/Cancer Awareness license plate owners gathered together to help support one another with spreading the message of early detection in breast cancer on the Cocopah Casino lawn on Saturday.

Yuma recently received $100,000 funds from Pink Ribbon/Cancer Awareness license plates to help pay for mammograms, said Sarah H. Lydick of Regional Center for Border Health in Yuma. For every $25 Pink Ribbon special license plate purchased, $17 goes to the Arizona Department of Health Services for breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic awareness and outreach services in Arizona.

Regional Center for Border Health is coordinating and sponsoring the Yuma County Breast and Cervical Cancer Coalition’s 15th Annual Celebration of October National Breast Awareness Month.
