County board hopefuls at forum Tuesday

With the primary election just around the corner on Aug. 28, residents will have the opportunity to have their questions answered about the Yuma County Board of Supervisor candidates — before they vote.

The Yuma Sun is holding a candidate forum at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Booth Machinery, 6565 E. 30th St. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Candidates for the contested Board of Supervisor races are scheduled to appear, including District 1 Democrats Lenore Lorona Stuart, Augustin Tumbaga Jr. and Paulo Escalante, District 3 Republicans Shawn Smith and Russ Clark, and District 5 Republicans Greg Ferguson and Jacob Miller.

Questions will be posed to the candidates by moderator Roxanne Molenar, Yuma Sun's assignments editor. Audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions as well.
