Cocopah Casino has $40,000 winner
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Most people dream of getting paid $40,000 for a year's work, but Alan Silver made it all in just a few seconds over the weekend.
Silver had just sat down at a $1 video keno machine at Cocopah Casino on Sunday when he won a $40,000 prize.
"I just had a feeling!" Silver was quoted in a news statement Tuesday from Cocopah Casino.
Silver told the casino that he'd only been sitting at the machine for about 10 seconds before the win.
The 60-year-old retired lawyer lives in Nevada. He says he visits the casino about once a month when he passes through Yuma on the way to visit his mother in California, according to the news statement.
The Sun was not able to contact the winner on Tuesday.
The last two big wins coming from a non-progressive machine happened with a $75,000 jackpot in January and a $41,000 jackpot in April, according to Liz Pratt, communications director for the Cocopah Indian Tribe. Pratt added that the winners of those jackpots were Yuma residents.
