Paradise casino to temporarily close
Comments 0 | Recommend 0In a rare occurrence, the doors to Paradise Casinos closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday for about 19 hours for required maintenance.
The maintenance was expected to be completed and the casinos reopened by 3 p.m. today, said Barrett DeFay, marketing director.
This is only the fourth time the casinos have closed in the past 10 years: in June for generator maintenance, in 2002 due to a nearby brush fire and in 2000 to install a new online slot system, DeFay said.
A special $10,000 in giveaways will welcome customers back today, with drawings for cash and free slot play from 6 to 9:05 p.m.
The promotion is part of the $100,000 Win-A-Thon that is in place to help celebrate the casinos' 11th anniversary.
Paradise Casino Arizona and Paradise Casino California are owned and operated by the Quechan Indian Nation on the Fort Yuma Reservation just across the Colorado River from Yuma.
