New HD channels coming to Yuma area

Time Warner Cable customers in the Yuma area will now be able to watch even more news, sports and family programming in high definition.

The company announced Thursday that it has added 10 more HD channels to its No Fee HD lineup, said Jody A. Veeder, area marketing manager for the cable company.

With the addition, Time Warner Cable customers in Yuma and the surrounding area will now have access to more than 50 HD channels, she said. That includes Turner Class Movies HD, Travel Channel HD, NBA TV HD and local broadcast channels in HD.

In the coming weeks, Time Warner Cable will launch 19 more HD channels, bringing their HD lineup to 70 channels, Veeder said.

“Time Warner Cable customers deserve the greatest selection and widest variety of HD choices,” said Ricky Rinehart, Southwest area manager for Time Warner Cable. “Unlike our competitors in the satellite industry, the majority of our HD channels are included with digital cable and an HD receiver,” said Ricky Rinehart, Southwest area manager for Time Warner Cable.

He continued: “We are using innovative new technologies to better utilize and manage our bandwidth, so we expect even more HD channels in the near future.”

To view the HD programming, customers must have an HD converter box, an HD television and for expanded service, digital cable.
