Transportation plan discussed in Somerton
Somerton residents will have the chance Wednesday to let officials know what improvements should be made over the next 20 years to streets, bike lanes and pedestrian paths in the city.
City Hall and the Arizona Department of Transportation will host a public hearing to gather comments that will be used in drawing up the city's new transportation plan.
The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Somerton Public Safety Building, 455 E. Main St., and an interpreter will be provided for Spanish-speaking residents who attend.
When adopted by the city and ADOT, the plan will serve as guide for programming and improvement construction of or improvements to roads, bike lanes and sidewalks over the following two decades.
For more information about the plan or the hearing contact ADOT's community relations officer, Gabriella Kemp, at (928) 317-2165 or gkemp@azdot.gov, or project manager Mark R. Hoffman at (602) 712-7454 or mhoffman@azdot.gov.
