Some schools, offices to close for Monday holiday

Some public offices and schools in Yuma County will be closed Monday in observance of Columbus Day.

Yuma and Somerton municipal offices will be open, but federal, state. Yuma County and Wellton and San Luis municipal offices will be closed.

Trash collection in Yuma and in unincorporated areas will take place as usual.

Post offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery.

Schools in Yuma Elementary School District 1 will be in session, but Yuma Union High School District will be closed. Crane Elementary School District is on fall break through Friday.

Some banks and financial institutions will be closed Monday, but not all.  Wells Fargo branches will be open.  Call your financial institution to find out their holiday hours.

Offices of The Sun will be open and the newspaper will distribute a morning edition as usual.
