Michigan woman wins on progressive slot
A 79-year-old Michigan woman hit the jackpot at Cocopah Casino Saturday night.
The woman, who casino officials say wishes to remain anonymous, won $163,335.30 on a "Wheel of Fortune" progressive slot machine, according to a news release from the casino.
The woman was paid out $7,700 Saturday evening and given a complimentary one-night stay at the Cocopah Resort and Casino Conference Center.
She will have the option to either receive the rest in a lump sum or in installments for up to 20 years.
Liz Pratt, spokeswoman for the Cocopah Tribe, said the win came off a slot machine owned by International Gaming Technology. It was a progress area-wide jackpot, so the money won had been compiled from a chain of slot machines at area casinos, not just Cocopah.
