College fair planned at Kofa High
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A college fair will be at Kofa High School Monday, and students at all grade levels are welcome.
The annual Higher Education Night begins at 6 p.m. and continues to 8 p.m., according to a news release. The evening kicks off with a welcome in the Kofa auditorium from 6 to 6:15 p.m.
Three breakout sessions, all in Building 1, will follow: Session I - 6:20 to 6:40 p.m.; Session II - 6:45 to 7:05 p.m.; Session III - 7:10 to 7:30 p.m.
A College Browse will be held in the Kofa cafeteria from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Representatives from several colleges and universities will be on hand, including Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University's Flagstaff and Yuma branches, Glendale Community College, Gateway Community College Eastern Community College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Pima Community College.
The event is an excellent chance for high school juniors and seniors to meet with college representatives to make sure they are on the proper path for acceptance to a school of their choice, the release said.
Freshmen and sophomores could also benefit by learning how to chart a curriculum that will ensure college admission. Community college students and adults may want to inquire about educational opportunities, too.
At any one of the three informational sessions, students and parents can learn more about the SAT/ACT exams, transfer opportunities, financial aid, scholarships, vocational and technical schools and various ROTC academies.
