Corrections - Town Hall comments; product price
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A story on Page A5 of Wednesday's edition of The Sun incorrectly attributed comments made by Madeleine Coil at an Arizona Town Hall meeting in Yuma to Yuma City Councilman Ross Hieb and to Town Hall President Tara Jackson.
At the meeting that focused on recruiting and retaining quality teachers, Coil, not Hieb, endorsed a need to fully fund public schools. She endorsed a need to ensure teachers are competent in their subject areas and a need for early childhood teachers to be held to more rigorous and consistent training standards.
Hieb addressed only pre-kindergarten education curriculum and certification in his remarks.
Coil, not Jackson, supported defining teaching as a distinguished profession on a 12-month work year, raising salaries to attract qualified teachers and investing in teaching of the subjects of science, math, technology and engineering.
Also, the Fitness Finds column in the July-August edition of Health Connections listed the incorrect price at Dollar General for a tube of Heel Balm foot care cream. The correct price is $3.
The Sun regrets the errors.
