AEA announces finalists for $10,000 donation
AEA Federal Credit Union has reached its goal to award members more than $200,000 in Instant Cash for Car Loans before year-end, triggering the financial institution's pledge to write a $10,000 check to a community service organization.
But first, the credit union wants the community's input on which charity will receive the donation.
Competing for the big check are Crossroads Mission, Hospice of Yuma and the Yuma Community Food Bank. The three finalists were selected from nominations from the community over the past several months.
They will now compete for the $10,000 through an online Facebook voting process.
“All three charitable organization finalists provide a unique and much-appreciated contribution to our community, so it was impossible for us to choose just one to receive the $10,000 donation,” said Yanna Kruse, AEA vice president of marketing. “That's why we're opening it to a community vote.”
Open voting for AEA's GO Direct Initiative's $10,000 Charity Donation will officially start Tuesday on the credit union's Facebook site at www.facebook.com/aeafcu. Voting will continue through Jan. 31.
Each person can vote once a day. The winner will be announced on Feb. 1.
