Supes to consider solar plant near Hyder
Arizona Public Service is looking to build another solar power facility in Yuma County.
APS will approach the Yuma County Board of Supervisors this week for a permit to allow a facility on a 230 acre parcel near Hyder. The plant would be located about three-quarters of a mile north of Palomas Road on Avenue 75E.
The Supervisors will consider the permit at their meeting Monday. Other items on the agenda include:
– Consideration of abandoning sections of county roads, including a part of County 19-1/2 Street from 4th Avenue Extension to Avenue 1E and a part of County 17-1/4 Street, east one-eighth of a mile from Avenue A.
- Acceptance of $734,540 from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for the Yuma County Sheriff's Office's Operation Stonegarden. The grant will play for overtime and radio and car camera equipment purchases.
- Authorize the appointment of David Haws as a Judge Pro Tempore for Yuma County Superior Court from Jan. 1 to June 30, 2013.
