Newspaper delivery disrupted by storm
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Due to an early Sunday morning storm, delivery of Sunday's edition of The Sun has been severely disrupted. Many readers will be getting incomplete newspapers today due to circumstances beyond our control.
The newspaper lost power at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning as the A and C sections of the paper were starting to print for delivery to our customers. Power was not restored until about 7 a.m.
Because it would take several hours to print the remaining sections, further delaying delivery, the decision was made to deliver the available B, D, and Desert Life sections of the paper - with various advertising inserts. It was expected that most of these early sections would be delivered to homes by mid-morning Sunday.
Some readers may also get the A and C sections today, but it is expected that most subscribers will receive them with their Monday paper instead.
Phone service to the newspaper was also affected by the storm and customer service representatives have been unable to receive calls for long periods of time. Customers needing to contact the newspaper may also do so by sending e-mail to circulation@yumasun.com.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our customers
Yumasun.com will continue to provide updates on the status of the newspaper as well as the aftermath of the storm as information becomes available. Most of the local stories that are in the Sunday paper also appear here.
