District 1 board to hear AVID report

At a board meeting Monday, the Yuma Elementary District 1 governing board will hear a report from Woodard Junior High School staff about its AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program.

Staff will share a presentation on the AVID Demo School visit, highlighting how the school is on its way to achieving National Demonstration Status. Staff also plan to report on sixth-graders on the campus who have recently improved their test scores.

In other meeting news, chief financial officer Kerry Jones will also share reports on the budget, enrollment and district energy savings.

Lastly, the board will consider a solar services agreement as well as the performance guarantee and limited warrant agreements with SolarCity Corporation to install solar photo voltaic systems at Rolle Elementary and Ron Watson Middle schools.
