Starting Monday, 4th Avenue will be the focus of Project Drive Safe, the Yuma Police Department's ongoing traffic enforcement campaign.
Officers monitoring 4th Avenue through Dec. 16 will be looking out specifically and writing tickets for red light-runners, motorists who tailgate, and those who commit turning violations, the department said in a news release.
In Drive Safe, officers stake out a different Yuma street each week in an ongoing campaign to crack down on dangerous motorists.
So far, 1,596 citations have been handed out in Drive Safe.
The traffic campaign began in March 2005.
