JENSEN EDWARD THOMAS

Drug charges filed after search warrant

A Yuma County man is behind bars after a search of his home allegedly turned up methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Capt. Eben Bratcher, a spokesman for the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, said that on Saturday at about 10:30 p.m. agents of the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at 2125 E. 14th St., which is the home of Jensen Edward Thomas.

Bratcher said approximately 16 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Thomas was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on charges of possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools.

Bratcher said deputies launched an investigation into Thomas' activities a short time ago after receiving a tip about activity occurring at the residence.

“We looked into it based on a tip and discovered there was activity consistent with the sale of narcotics. We then opened an investigation, and it eventually led to the search warrant.”

Bratcher said he encourages county residents to continue reporting suspicious activity because the sheriff's office will investigate them.
