AWC to host Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour
Arizona Western College is partnering with the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour (EET) to bring inspiration to young entrepreneurs in the Yuma area.
EET will be held on June 10, 2010 from 3 to 8 p.m. on the Arizona Western College Main Campus.
According to AWC, the event is committed to helping both students and members of the community succeed in the changing economy. The college is inviting forward thinking individuals of all disciplines to attend and learn how they can apply the entrepreneurial mind-set to their lives regardless of career choice.
During the event, students will be inspired to write down their goals and the steps they need to take to achieve them, their website stated.
The day's events will be moderated by , “America's Top Young Speaker.” He will be joined by Lauren Berger and Raj Lahoti.
Berger's company, Intern Queen, provides internship consulting services and an intern-themed clothing line, Internal EthiKs. She picked up the award for “Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year” at the 2007-2008 Stevie Awards in Las Vegas in 2009.
Lahoti began his journey as an entrepreneur at the age of 9 and is now ranked number 9 by Inc. Magazine in its 30 Under 30: America's Coolest, Young Entrepreneurs. Lahoti is the founder of DMV.ORG: The Unofficial Guide to the DMV, which draws in over 65 million visitors annually.
Founded by award-winning 25-year-olds, Michael Simmons and Sheena Lindahl, EET is comprised of many of America's top young entrepreneurs who have made, earned, or sold a company for millions or made a huge impact before the age of 30.
The vision of the tour is for all of America's college students to graduate with an entrepreneurial mind-set, the press release said.
EET is supported in part by AWC, along with Yuma Private Industry Council and Innovation Frontier Arizona, a Southern Arizona initiative to align education, workforce development and economic development with the needs of the region's industries.
EET encourages those who wish to attend to RSVP at www.extremetour.org.
