Teen driving funfest Saturday
Young new drivers can practice and have fun with their behind-the-wheel skills this weekend at Southgate Mall.
The free Celebrate My Drive for teen drivers will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the mall. Teens are welcome to enjoy music, games and giveaways, drive a car from Yuma's Alexander Ford and use a “Driver's Feedback” app to rate their driving skills, which makes them eligible for cash prizes of $100, $150 and $250. There will also be a drawing for a 10-inch, 8GB Android tablet.
Even bigger prizes include a new car and a $100,000 prize for a lucky school. Fourteen new cars and 14 grants will also be given away across the country.
Visit www.celebratemydrive.com to enter those drawings and www.facebook.com/CelebrateMyDrive for more on the promotion.
The event is hosted locally by Armijo Insurance Agency. Several similar events will be held the same day nationwide, sponsored by State Farm.
