U.S. marshals arrest alleged sexual predator
Deputy U.S. marshals and Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force officers arrested a Texas man in Buckeye after he fled Yuma.
Robert Franz, 63, who was wanted by the Pampa Police Department for alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child under age 5, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.
In December 2011, the Gray County Sheriff's Office in Pampa issued an arrest warrant for Franz. Shortly after the warrant was issued, Franz fled Texas.
On Tuesday, the Pampa Police Department contacted the Yuma division of the Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force with information that Franz had recently been in the Yuma area. The Yuma division found that Franz had likely fled Yuma and was in the Buckeye area.
Deputy U.S. marshals and task force officers from the Phoenix Division quickly located and arrested Franz at a truck stop near 339th Avenue and Van Buren Road in Buckeye.
