Free presentations on public health issues
Comments 0 | Recommend 0 Two upcoming presentations hosted by the Yuma County Health Department will cover such issues as infectious diseases, food-borne illnesses and sanitary standards for the hospitality industry.
The first presentation, What's Hot in Yuma County, is set for Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Yuma County Department of Public Works auditorium, 4343 S. Avenue 5-1/2E.
Topics will include food-borne illness, the West Nile virus, meningitis, tuberculosis and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a bacterial infection known as MRSA.
Health Inspection Issues for the Hospitality Industry will be the topic July 30 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Yuma Community Food Bank, 2325 S. Engler Ave.
Topics will include current food handling regulations, food safety codes, pest control issues, employee health monitoring, food storage requirements, fire prevention requirements, swimming pool and spa requirements and mattress issues.
