GOP women collect items for troops

The Rio Colorado Republican Women's Club is collecting donations of candy, books, magazines and other items today (Saturday) for U.S. troops serving overseas.

Donations will be accepted from the public from noon to 2 p.m. at the Yuma County Republican Party headquarters at 4th Avenue and 12th Street.

The club will take care of sending the donations to troops serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere overseas.

Other items that will be accepted include games, comics books, Girl Scout cookies and toiletries.
