Name: Ron Gould
Age: 52
Hometown: Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Office running for: Congressional District 4
Political experience: Lake Havasu City Council — 2 years, Arizona State Senate — 8 years
Family: Wife Janice, Sons Ron Jr. and Robert, daughter Rachael, 2 grandsons
Party: Republican
Please describe your platform. Limited Government Conservative
If elected, what is your first priority? Repeal Obamacare
What sets you apart from your opponent(s)? I am the only proven conservative in the race. I have a 10-year conservative voting record. 1# Conservative in the Legislature per Goldwater Institute & Americans for Prosperity.
What would you do to achieve more transparency in government, and should government officials be in charge of managing those efforts? Reducing the size of government would increase the transparency. Arizona's checkbook is online, we should do the same with the federal government's checkbook. Single-subject bills would be a vast improvement. It is the job of the government to make everything they do transparent and the job of the press to get that information out to the people.
What do you think is the biggest challenge right now facing Yumans? High unemployment.
What would you do, if elected, to help change that? If we balance the budget, it will increase the confidence of the nation. People will then expand and start businesses, increasing the demand for workers.
How would you rate how the current office holder is doing, on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the highest), and why? 1 — His policies continue to collapse the economy.
What is one of your strengths? Weaknesses? Well grounded in my beliefs. Sometimes I eat more than I should.
What is one thing that you want voters to know? I will not compromise our conservative principles if they send me to Washington.
