A 22-year-old Yuma man was killed in a Tucson-area car crash early Friday morning, according to a family member.
"He was over there partially on company business," Yuman Rigo Jimenez said of his brother-in-law, Victor Robles. "It was also his birthday."
Jimenez said the family was notified about the accident at about 5 a.m. Friday by the Marana Police Depart- ment.
Robles worked for the Pep Boys Automotive Service Center in Yuma, 155 E. 32nd St.
While he didn't have very much information about the accident and exactly where it happened, Jimenez said the family was told that Robles was one of three people in the vehicle and the only person killed.
"His boss and someone else who worked for a Pep Boys in Tucson were with him," Jimenez said. "His boss is in stable condition in the hospital, and the other person fled the scene."
Because someone fled the scene, Jimenez said he is concerned that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, although he doesn't know for sure.
"His name is Thomas and police are looking for him," Jimenez said.
The Sun attempted to contact the Marana Police Department to get further information on the accident, but a call to a spokesman was not returned.
Jimenez said his brother-in-law leaves behind two young children, one of whom is 1 and the other 4 years old.
He went on to say that the family plans to hold some type of benefit fundraiser for his brother-in-law.
