YALE meets Tuesday; Property tax reform to be discussed; Compassionate friends; Scout collects food
YALE MEETS TUESDAY
The monthly meeting of YALE (Yuma Area Law Enforcement) will take place Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 19, 2575 S. Virginia Drive.
The meeting begins with a social period, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. All current and former law enforcement officers are urged to attend.

PROPERTY TAX REFORM TO BE DISCUSSED
Conrad Ballweg, volunteer coordinator for Arizona Tax Revolt, will speak on property tax reform at Thursday's meeting of the Yuma Freedom Discussion Society.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Freedom Library, 2435 S. 8th Ave., and is open to the public. A discussion of his presentation will follow from 7:45 to 8:55 p.m.
COMPASSIONATE FRIENDS COMFORTS THOSE IN MOURNING
The next meeting of Compassionate Friends will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church, 11273 E. 40th St.
The meeting is open to all parents and extended family members of children who have died, regardless of the cause of death, age of the child or length of time lapsed since the death.
The group has no religious affiliation, and there are no membership fees or dues. For more information, call 344-5529.
SCOUTS COLLECT FOOD
Yuma-area Boy Scouts will join Scouts statewide in collecting canned goods for the needy.
The Scouts will go door to door from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 2, but area residents who want to donate to the effort can call the Yuma Scout office at 782-1896.
