Environmental Science 230 and Biology 108 classes transplanted more than 2,000 milkweed plants to an Arizona Western College field to create a monarch butterfly garden on Tuesday. The science department plans to tag the butterflies with a special AWC tag, so when it’s time for the butterflies to migrate, scientists in California and Mexico will know if the butterflies came through the AWC milkweed field.
