Sex offender moves to town

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A sex offender has moved to Yuma.

Richard Harrell, 61, will be residing at 18540 S. Avenue 3E. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 225 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair.

Harrell is considered a Level 2 sex offender with a medium risk to reoffend.

On May 29, 2003, Harrell was convicted of attempted commercial sexual exploitation of a minor. He had been collecting and sharing child pornography through the Internet.

A flier with information on Harrell is being distributed to his immediate neighborhood.

According to Megan's Law, law enforcement must notify the surrounding neighborhood when a Level 3 sex offender is released. Neighborhood notification for Level 2 sex offenders is optional but is done by the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.

More information on the state's sex offenders is available at www.azsexoffender.com.
