YCSO seeks public help catching illegal dumper
Comments 0 | Recommend 0An illegal dump of construction debris took place Wednesday afternoon at Avenue 6E and the levee road. And the Yuma County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding out who did it.
According to a news release, YCSO has a few details to go on. A caller reported seeing a black Ford 4x4 pulling a trailer that dumped a large quantity of construction debris in the levee road area.
When YCSO deputies arrived on the scene, the truck and trailer were gone.
The material left consisted of used lumber and fiberglass insulation which appears to have come from the demolition of a structure, the release stated. YCSO also released a photograph of the material.
Anyone with any information as to who is responsible for the crime - or any illegal dumping - is asked to call the sheriff's office at 783-4427.
YCSO also reminds the public that dumping at other than approved waste disposal sites is illegal and, depending on the quantity of material dumped, can be prosecuted as a felony.
