San Luis grocer accused of videotaping bathroom users
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The owner of a grocery market in San Luis, Ariz., is being held on suspicion of secretly videotaping employees and customers while they were using the bathroom.
Raad Shaaia, the owner of Quality Market, was taken into custody after a unidentified woman reported discovering videotaping equipment in the bathroom of the store, one of three businesses located at 1485 N. Main St., San Luis police said in a news release.
Police identified Shaaia as the the primary suspect in an investigation being conducted jointly by the San Luis Police Department. The Yuma County Attorney's Office is working closely with SLPD regarding the handling of the investigation. The suspect had not been formally charged with a crime as of Tuesday afternoon.
He was being held for questioning Tuesday, city officials said.
Police are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of videotaping while frequenting the business between September and October to call Detective Johnny Vidrio, 341-2420.
Police said they had no other details to release.
