Alzheimer's support group meeting day changes; VFW post seeks trash pickup volunteers; Santa at Legion Post 19

ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP MEETING DAY CHANGES

The Alzheimer's support group that normally meetings the third Saturday of each month at Emerald Springs, 1475 S. 46th Ave., will instead meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 22 at that location.

The group changed only its December meeting to accommodate guest speaker Dr. B. Aluri, a neurologist.

In 2008, the group will resume meeting on the third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at Emerald Springs. For more information about the group, call Connie Whitener at 782-0002.

VFW POST SEEKS TRASH PICKUP VOLUNTEERS

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8242 is seeking volunteers to help remove litter along Highway 95 between Mileposts 36 and 38 on

Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.

The cleanup is part of a semiannual effort by the post and its auxiliary to remove litter as part of the adopt-a-highway program.

The post will provide vests, trash bags and water, but volunteers should bring gloves. The post will also provide snacks to participants after the cleanup.

SANTA AT LEGION POST 19

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the American Legion Post 19, 2575 S. Virginia Drive, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The Christmas party, sponsored by the post and auxiliary, will include hot dogs, sodas and a train ride for the children. For information, call 344-3441.
