    Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Gila Ridge High School will host "Parent University" Tuesday, an informational session explaining graduation requirements and postsecondary education options available.

Parent University begins with an orientation at the Hawk Gymnasium at 6 p.m. and then proceeds to Building 1 for a series of breakout sessions. The sessions repeat until 8 p.m. so parents may attend all three topics, said Kathy Johnston, director of guidance.

Those three topics are the individual graduating classes of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013; standardized tests such as the ACT/SAT as well as AIMS, which students need to pass in order to graduate; and the military.

The branches of service sending representatives include the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force.

Information about freshman teams, graduation requirements and college applications will also be provided. Meanwhile, admissions representatives from Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University- Flagstaff, NAU-Yuma and Arizona Western College will also be there.

    For more information, call 502-6462.
