Fair housing forum set for Thursday
Yuma-area residents can learn about their fair housing rights and how to fight housing discrimination during a forum today hosted by the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
The fair housing forum will take place 9 a.m. to noon at the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood Center, 3rd Street and 13th Avenue, and is free and open to the public.
Representatives from Attorney General Terry Goddard's Office, the Yuma City Council, Arizona Center for Disability Law, Community Legal Services, the Housing Authority of Yuma and the Yuma Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will host workshops to educate residents about their fair housing rights and ways to combat housing discrimination in their communities.
