Don't paint on Superman's cape (photos)
Under the watchful eyes of Superman, Marco Villa (first photo) puts the final touches Friday on the comic book hero's cape, which is half of a mural Villa and partner Michael Shaddy created on the north side of a garage at 2005 S. 1st Ave. Villa and Shaddy call themselves Immaculate Graffiti Murals, with examples of their work starting to show up more frequently around Yuma, having recently painted murals at the Golden Cue and Martin Luther King Community Center. The tools of their trade include cans and cans of different-colored spray paint (second photo). While Villa finishes up his Superman, Shaddy (third photo) works on his half of the mural, adding the final details to what he calls a space theme. Shaddy then grabs a video camera to record their work. Villa and Shaddy can be reached at 373-7365.
