A Yuma man is in the Yuma County jail as a suspect in a weekend stabbing that left another man in critical condition at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

Keith Noel, 24, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on suspicion of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and assisting a criminal street gang in connection with the stabbing of Joseph Rasmusson, 28, police said.

Ages and addresses were not available for either man.

The stabbing occurred at The Pub, 179 E. 1st St., shortly after midnight Sunday, police said.

Rasmusson underwent surgery for multiple stab wounds, police said.

Noel was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Yuma Justice Court at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

In an unrelated incident, two stabbings occurred a few hours later, between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. in the 100 block of San Jose Street in Yuma.

According to police, two people were stabbed and a third was assaulted.

The first victim in this stabbing received a minor stab wound that did not require medical attention. The second victim also received a stab wound, for which he refused treatment at the scene, but later sought treatment at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

The assault victim did not require medical attention.

Police also say a vehicle fleeing the scene following the second stabbing struck a parked car in the area. As of Monday, police said they are still seeking suspects in the case.

Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbings to call (928) 783-4421 or 78-CRIME.
