Avenue 3E Bridge, upcoming closure
The Avenue 3E Bridge located between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma has an upcoming closure scheduled for overnight work: 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday, March 20.
The overall project includes widening the bridge over the railroad tracks from two to six lanes with a center median, new pavement, and pedestrian walkways. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained during expansion of the bridge, which will be built to include three lanes each direction when complete. There will be some speed limit reductions during this project. The project is a cooperative effort between ADOT and the City of Yuma and is scheduled for completion in summer 2013.
Spring Fog Seal Program continues
During the period of March 18-22, City of Yuma Street Maintenance crews will begin the spring Fog Seal Program. Fog seal is a fresh oil spray that increases pavement life.

8th Avenue south of 32nd Street
Private contractor improvements to the former Target building will take place March 4-29. Northbound 8th Avenue will be narrowed on the approach to 32nd Street.
Letvin Avenue water line project
A contractor working for the City of Yuma is installing a new 10-inch water line from water tanks to 18th Street alignment and then south on Letvin Avenue to 20th Street, then performing a partial street replacement. Workers will be on site between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Major work is expected to wrap up in the next two weeks.
24th Street water line - Pacific to Arizona
The city has awarded a contract to replace the water line under 24th Street between Pacific Avenue and Arizona Avenue. Construction is expected to begin later this winter and take approximately 5 months to complete. A neighborhood meeting will take place 6 p.m. March 19 at McGraw School, 24th Street and Arizona Avenue. Residents are invited to attend to learn more about the project.
