MCAS tax center named best in state
Comments 0 | Recommend 0 The Internal Revenue Service named Marine Corps Air Station Yuma's tax center the year's best military volunteer income tax assistance center in Arizona.
The MCAS tax center completed 1,866 federal and 1,348 state tax returns this tax season for a total of $3,562,795 in refunds for troops.
"While we may have a smaller work force, the other tax offices were at a disadvantage because we have the best team," said 1st Lt. Steven Bost, station legal assistance officer. "The tax center Marines do more with less and do it well, much like the rest of the Marine Corps."
By providing this service for free, the tax center saved users approximately $306,555 in preparation fees.
The tax center will be receiving a plaque from the IRS for its accomplishment.
