Describe your Platform
I believe that it is the duty of the Justice of the Peace to be impartial and fair to all parties that step into the court. While following the letter of the law it is important to remember that each person is an individual and each case should be heard on its own merit.
If elected, what is your first priority?
I would want to meet with the current court staff in order to ensure a smooth transition. I would also want to meet with all local agencies and community groups, introduce myself, and ensure them of my willingness to make myself available if they have any concerns about the court.
Who do you think is your biggest challenger and why?
This is a two-candidate race with my opponent being the incumbent.
What do you think sets you apart from your opponent?
My 29+ years as a law enforcement officer is my biggest asset. I have worked many of the types of cases that would be heard in the Justice Court. I believe I can handle difficult situations by remaining calm and open-minded. and I am also dependable, trustworthy, and fair. I am capable of handling the responsibilities of the office with impartiality and efficiency.
What is one of your strengths? Weaknesses (something you'd like to improve upon)?
One of my strengths is Common Sense. I think this is one characteristic that helped keep me safe during my career as a law enforcement officer and will be a huge asset as a judge. My weakness is that some people might mistake my quietness for unfriendliness. I would want people to understand that I am respectful and thoughtful.
What is one thing you want voters to know?
After graduating from the Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy I chose to return to east Yuma County to work and raise my family. This is my home and I want to do the best for the people of my community. I will have an open door policy and will respond to all questions and concerns from the people of Precinct 3. I am committed to public service and the administration of justice.
