City has budget sessions this week
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Yuma City Council will begin putting together the city budget for the next fiscal year during work sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The work sessions will be from 2 to 5 p.m. each day in Council Chambers at City Hall, One City Plaza. While open to the public, city officials say there will be no opportunity for public comments or questions.
Today's session begins with City Administrator Mark Watson presenting his recommended budget for fiscal 2008-2009, which begins July 1. A budget presentation will be made by Finance Director Pat Wicks, and individual department budgets will be reviewed.
The city's Capital Improvement Program budget will be presented during Wednesday’s session. Thursday is currently scheduled as a wrap-up session.
The budget presentations will be cablecast in their entirety on City 73, the city of Yuma’s government channel on Time Warner Cable. City 73 also programming streams on the Web at www.ci.yuma.az.us/7567.htm.
