Assault suspect turns himself in

The man sought by the Yuma County Sheriff's Office in connection with an assault that sent a woman to the hospital Tuesday afternoon has turned himself in.

Dylan Escalanti was taken into custody by deputies Thursday after he arrived at YCSO.

He was wanted following his alleged involvement in the assault of a woman Tuesday afternoon at 2555 W. 4th Place, Apartment #1.

Deputies found the woman shortly after 2:31 p.m. She needed medical treatment and was transported by Rural/Metro to Yuma Regional Medical Center. While severely beaten, she was conscious and able to speak with investigators Tuesday evening.
