AWC offers writing tutor workshops
Students needing a little extra assistance with their writing skills can participate in a series of workshops this semester at Arizona Western College titled “Tutor Talk,” facilitated by campus writing tutors.
The workshops are held most Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room SC 206 and are also available via videoconference for off-site AWC campuses in San Luis, Parker and Quartzsite.
“Tutor Talk workshops incorporate successful writing strategies with strategies for academic success and are drawn on the ‘habits of mind' that the Council of Writing Program Administrators refers to as intellectual and practical ways of approaching learning that will support student success,” stated AWC officials.
Tutors leading the workshops are students who have completed AWC coursework and are suited to share their experience and knowledge.
Students may register for the workshops at the AWC Writing Center or by calling 317-6171. Students who attend for extra credit in a given course must request a pink slip at the end of each workshop.
