YCSO looking for sex offender
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Cole moved in last 60 days and did not reregister
A sex offender has neglected to keep authorities informed of his residence, according to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.
Eddie Lee Cole, 34, was first convicted of sexual conduct with a minor in 1998 in Pima County, according to a YCSO press release. Cole, who previously resided in Tacna, initially registered his address after his conviction as being in Tacna with authorities but has moved in the past 60 days and failed to reregister, the release said.
"We have unconfirmed reports he may be on his way to Florida," Capt. Eben Bratcher, YCSO spokesman said. "If he is found, he will be arrested."
YCSO does periodic checks on sex offenders, which is how it learned of Cole's disappearance, Bratcher said. Once Cole is apprehended, he will be charged with failure to register and may face an additional charge if found out of state and not registered at his new address, Bratcher added.
Cole is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has thinning brown hair and hazel eyes. His head may be shaved, according to the news release.
Anyone with information on Cole's whereabouts is asked to call YCSO at 329-2379.
