Police seek public's help in murder of six

More than seven months after the murder of six people at a Yuma home, the Yuma Police Department is still actively investigating and requesting the help of the public.

YPD spokesman Clint Norred said police have a dedicated team of eight investigators who are working full-time to find the person or persons who killed Luis Rios, Adrienne Heredia, and Heredia's four children: Andreas Crawford, Enrique Bedoya, Inez Newman and Danny Heredia III, on June 24 at 2037 E. La Mesa St.

"They're still conducting interviews and developing leads," Norred said.

Norred said detectives have conducted hundreds of interviews during the investigation. He said even though the case is now more than half a year old, there is still plenty of information to follow up on and plenty to do.

YPD is asking for the public's help in providing any information that could further the case. "If you've heard something that you think is pertinent, or even not, give us a call," Norred said.

Kenneth Crawford, father of Enrique Bedoya and Andreas Crawford, said he remained confident that YPD would solve the case. "I'm happy with what they're doing," he said.

Crawford said he wants YPD to build a strong case by taking their time. He said he is in regular contact with the department, although detectives have not formally interviewed him again after his initial interview soon after the murders.

"The community has been helpful," he said. "I'm happy with Yuma and I'm happy with Yuma PD."

Rios and Danny Heredia III died of gun shot wounds to the head, and the other four victims died of probable asphyxiation, according to autopsy reports.

People can call YPD at 783-4421 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous. The Yuma 78-CRIME board and Adrienne Bedoya-Heredia and Her Little Angels Fund is offering a reward of $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the perpetrator of the crime.
