Sun seeks nominations for Workplace Excellence
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Yuma Sun is accepting nominations for the 2009 Workplace Excellence.
This annual awards program was created by the Southwest Arizona Human Resources Association and the Yuma Sun to recognize businesses in Yuma with excellent people practices.
After the application process, five judges from around the United States will vote on the nominated businesses. The awards are for best practices in small, medium and large sized businesses, one overall winner and one special award winner.
Winners will be recognized at a luncheon Nov. 4.
Going into the fifth year, Workplace Excellence has grown in name recognition. In 2008, the Yuma Sun received more than 60 nominations from local businesses.
Anyone can nominate a business, except human resource managers, business owners or chief executive officers.
Nomination forms can be found at the Yuma Sun offices, 2055 S. Arizona Ave., or at www.contestsinyuma.com/workplaceexcellence.
Deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Aug. 7. Nominations can be e-mailed to kpaiz@yumasun.com, faxed to 329-2753 or delivered to Yuma Sun offices.
