Dog vaccination clinics set

March 10 — Target parking lot, 1450 S. Yuma Palms Parkway, Yuma, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
March 17 — Pioneer Shopping Center, 11274 S. Fortuna Road, Suite H, Yuma, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
By law, all dog owners in Yuma County are required to have their dogs licensed by March 31 if the animals are 3 months or older.
The license verifies that the dog is current with its rabies vaccination, stated Humane Society of Yuma officials.
If a dog has already been vaccinated, it can be licensed online at www.hsoyuma.com with a scanned or faxed copy of its valid rabies certificate.
“The certificate must be signed by a U.S. licensed veterinarian, state whether your dog is altered or not and be current through at least April 1,” according to HSOY. “Although licenses are issued for dogs whose vaccines expire prior to year's end, your dog must be revaccinated in order to keep the license valid.”
Although HSOY no longer handles dog licensing for the city of Yuma, it will be holding various vaccination clinics. “Additionally, our spay and neuter clinic will be providing vaccinations Tuesday through Friday from noon to 2 p.m. We offer rabies, distemper, bordatella vaccines as well as microchipping and pet tags,” said HSOY.
